bac water for peptides: why do we need it?

Been seeing a lot of confusion around bac water. Why is it the go-to for peptide reconstitution? I know it's got that preservative vibe with benzyl alcohol, but how does it really help our research rats and their setups? Also, any tips on spotting those pesky Hospira fakes?

Bac water's a favorite since that benzyl alcohol helps keep things fresh for up to 28 days, which is handy when you're not using all your peptide in one go. As for spotting fakes, the classic signs are poorly aligned labels and weird expiration dates. Hospira legit ones usually have crisp printing and consistent font sizes. Anyone else got some red flags they've seen?
